FAQ
Have questions about how public adjusting works? We’ve answered some of the most common ones to help you feel informed and confident every step of the way.
What is a public adjuster and why would I need one?
A public adjuster is a licensed professional who represents policyholders in the insurance claims process. Unlike the adjuster assigned by your insurance company, we work solely for you—ensuring your damage is properly assessed, your policy is interpreted correctly, and your payout is maximized.
How is a public adjuster different from the insurance company’s adjuster?
The insurance company’s adjuster works to protect their employer’s financial interests, often aiming to minimize payouts. A public adjuster, on the other hand, is hired by you and advocates for your best interests throughout the claims process.
When should I contact a public adjuster?
The earlier, the better. Ideally, you should contact us as soon as damage occurs—before you file your claim. This allows us to guide you through the process, document all damages properly, and avoid costly mistakes. However, we can also step in at any point—even if your claim has already been filed or underpaid.
How are public adjusters paid?
We work on a contingency basis, meaning we don’t get paid unless you do. Our fee is a small percentage of the final settlement amount, so there’s no upfront cost to you.
What types of claims do you handle?
We handle both residential and commercial property claims, including fire, water, storm, and structural damage. If your property has sustained damage, we can likely help—reach out for a free consultation.
Can you help if my claim has already been denied or underpaid?
Yes. We frequently work with clients who have received a denial or feel their payout was too low. We’ll review your policy, assess the damages, and reopen the claim if appropriate to pursue what you’re rightfully owed.
